Pets Medications

Our pets need medicines too!

All Calgary communities are very passionate about pets. Whether your pet is a Boxer, a Pit Bull, a Maltese, a Chihuahua, a Coton de Tulear, a Pug, a domestic short-haired, or a Siamese cat, they may need pet prescription (dispensed or compounded) medications, especially when they grow old.

As a pet owner, it’s important to be aware of the various diseases that can affect your animal and the available medications for treatment. Here is a brief overview of some common pet diseases and their treatments.

One of the most common pet diseases is diarrhea. That diarrhea can be caused by various things, including food intolerance, infection, or parasites. Treatment for diarrhea typically includes a change in diet and/or antibiotics.

Another common pet disease is respiratory infections. Viruses, bacteria, or allergies can cause these infections. Treatment depends on the cause but may include antibiotics, antihistamines, or steroids.

Arthritis is another common disease in pets, especially older animals. Treatment includes pain relief medication and/or joint supplements.

Cancer is a severe disease that can affect any pet. Treatment depends on the type and stage of cancer but may include surgery, radiation, or chemotherapy.

Many other diseases can affect pets, but these are the most common. If you think your pet may be sick, it’s important to take them to the vet for an examination and diagnosis.

If you want help with your pet’s prescription medications, Ogden Pharmacy can help. It is noteworthy that some of these treatments may require compounded medicines, which is also a service we provide.

Please call us at 587-391-9878, use the Facebook Messenger Chatbot (the bottom right of this page), or use our WhatsApp Chat (the down left of this page) to ask about regular and compounded medicines for your pets.
